According to the United States Energy Information Administration, the following is a list of Idaho’s energy-related statistics as of 2016:

  • Idaho’s wind turbines provide 15% of utility-scale net electricity generation (see below).
  • Idaho had the 5th-lowest average electricity prices in the U.S.
  • 79% of Idaho’s utility-scale net electricity generation came from renewable energy resources, which includes wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass.
  • Hydroelectric power supplied about 60% of net-electricity generation in Idaho (the 2nd-largest share in the country).
  • Because of recent droughts, Idaho’s hydropower’s capacity fell from the 72% average of the previous decade.
