About PGE

To accelerate the efforts of power companies, joining the Arcadia network enables you to include more renewable and sustainable energy sources into the energy mix every time you pay your PGE bill.

According to data compiled by the United States Energy Information Administration, Oregon has an interesting energy mix not found in other U.S. states. First, renewable energy makes up a large component of the state’s energy mix. Due to large open spaces and high winds, Oregon wind farms are able to generate 3,200 megawatts (MW) of installed generating capacity from nearly 1,900 wind turbines. Similarly, the abundance of waterways has made Oregon one of the top 3 hydroelectric producers in the U.S., accounting for more than 12% of hydroelectric generation in 2017 across the country and 76% of the state’s own electricity generation. Furthermore, the state has taken the initiative to offset carbon emissions by providing 600 electric vehicle charging station across Oregon, with a total of about 1,400 charging outlets in use.
