About Alliant Energy

Wisconsin’s energy mix if fairly varied, with a 9.3% of its production geared towards sustainable sources like hydroelectric power, solar, biomass, biofuels and so forth. Wisconsin’s’ Point Beach nuclear facility, one of the oldest operating reactors in the United States, is Wisconsin’s only nuclear power plant, which provides about 15% of the state’s net generation (as of 2017). However, coal and other non-renewables still continue to be the primary sources of energy in Wisconsin, with over 27 locations across the state. Industrial sectors, such as agriculture and manufacturing, account for nearly 1/3 of the state’s end-use energy consumption.
